All About Bath Salts

Before creating MamaSuds Indulgent Bath Salts I poured over research on the health benefits of bathing with salts. I’ve used Epsom Salts for a short while and I have really loved how it makes my skin feel. There are things we should be doing for ourselves. You need to invest more time for yourself. You need to relax and de-stress. You need help smoothing out the emotional rough spots of your life. You need to melt your aches and pains away. Detoxing in a warm salt bath is the answer. Your mind, body and skin will thank you.

I started reading about the health benefit of Himalayan Pink Salts in a bath- I already knew how awesome they were as a salt lamp (http://amzn.to/1EXCtrk) – but I learned that it works in a similar manner in a bath. When you soak in a Himalayan salt bath, the minerals and nutrients in the salt are delivered to your cells in the form of ions,  which makes it easier for your body to absorb and use them. Himalayan bath salts can improve the texture, tone and appearance of your skin, help combat water retention, promote sinus health, prevent muscle cramping and soreness, regulate sleep, and even decrease stress. (Yes please!)

Another salt I came across was Dead Sea salt. It’s harvested from the Southern end of the Dead Sea where the mineral content of the waters is at its highest. Dead Sea Salts contain 21 minerals that naturally occur in our bodies but must be replenished because they are lost throughout the day. These minerals are known to treat, detoxify, and cleanse our bodies.

All about bath salts

Epsom Salt, Dead Sea Salt, and Himalayan Pink Salt are the trifecta of bath salts!

Rounding out this perfect trifecta of salts is Epsom Salt. Actually not a salt at all but Magnesium Sulfate. Magnesium plays an important role in the body: it regulates the activity of over 300 enzymes, reduces inflammation, helps muscle and nerve function and helps to prevent artery hardening. Sulfates help improve the absorption of nutrients, flush toxins and help ease migraine headaches. My favorite property of Epsom Salt is the ability to open up your pores so all the benefits can be truly taken advantage of.

What’s your favorite salt to bathe in?
