Make Washing Cloth Diapers Easy
MamaSuds Laundry Soap was designed specifically for my need as a cloth diapering Mama. I was having a hard time finding the “detergent” that washed the poo out of the diaper but didn’t burn my baby’s bum. The detergent would work for awhile then my daughter would get burns and I’d have to strip my diapers and find a new detergent. I started making my own with Fels Naptha, but I read about the ingredients in the bar being a petroleum by-product and didn’t like the sounds of that. washing cloth diapers
Since I was making my own castile soap by this time, I decided to try and find a recipe online that used liquid castile soap, at the time there were none. So I made my own recipe. At first they were terrible. After a few months I found a recipe that worked….. and it worked AWESOME. I made lots and used it on all of our clothes. It was getting stains out that commercial detergents weren’t and I knew I made something special! I have yet to strip my diapers since I created MamaSuds Laundry Soap. washing cloth diapers
Washing Cloth Diaper Routine
3 years later I am still cloth diapering with Baby#3 and I get asked a LOT about my washing cloth diapers routine. Remember, everyone’s water is very different so your routine might have to be tweaked accordingly. I have well water and it is extremely hard and unfortunately rusty. So I can instantly tell when our water softener is empty 🙁 . washing cloth diapers
1.) Rinse COLD.
2.) Wash HOT (I choose super wash on my machine, which just is the setting for the longest wash). I use 4 oz of MamaSuds Laundry Soap for diapers.
3.) Rinse COLD.
4.) Extra rinse COLD.
5.) I dry my diapers with wool dryer balls in the dryer during the cooler months or outside in the sun during the warmer months.
